The “Girlfriend” video is one of the funniest music videos around. Avril chases down a guy and his girlfriend at a family fun center and assaults her in a bumper car and on the miniature golf course. At the end of the Girlfriend video Avril Lavigne sends her rival falling into a portable toilet and claims the guy for herself. The video has a great retro, bubblegum feel to it that totally suits the upbeat poppy song. Avril Lavigne also shows her tough side in a situation that most teenage girls will readily relate to. In fact, she’s probably living out their fantasies in the video.
