The She Bangs video shows Ricky Martin at his smooth, sensual best with the ladies all over him. The underwater scenes with the mermaid are particularly inventive and add to the overall impact of the video. Some say the She Bangs video is pornographic, but I don’t believe it’s any raunchier than a lot of rap videos out there and at least the director here displayed a little captivating creativity with the underwater visuals. Ricky already had had his fifteen minutes of fame when this video was shot, but if there’s anything it’s telling us, it’s that Ricky Martin is going to be around for quite a long time. He is no flash in the pan.
