The "
Sweet and Low" video is as perfect a complement to an angst-ridden tune about cheating as you will ever find. As Dan Layus sings in a plaintive wail, we see blood dripping from the finger that is home to his wedding band. It's a spare track and the visuals of a darkened field with the sun setting in the background and a beautifully darkened sky are also stripped down and powerful. Layus sings that he doesn't want to die from the same thing that claimed his mother, but
the Sweet and Low video makes it quite clear that Layus is driven by loneliness and desperation and it is only a matter of time before he gives in to his passions.
